DJBET电竞菠菜人 www.wenzhousizu.com Invicta Grammar School is proud of its comprehensive and individualised Careers Programme. Our school based Careers Service, led by our qualified Careers Adviser, Mrs Rivers, is an integral part of school life at Invicta Grammar School. Our service enables students to develop the knowledge and skills they need to make successful choices, manage transition in education and aims to ensure all students achieve their full potential in whatever future career they choose to follow. Careers education and guidance is a theme which runs throughout the school curriculum, through PSHEE, Tutor Time and the one to one careers guidance support provided by our school based Careers Adviser. Our programme of careers education starts in Year 7. It is designed to include a variety of approaches including individual and team work, discussion, role-play and simulation, with work that is appropriately differentiated to cover a range of student interests and plans for the future, right up to Year 13. We are proud that we have been recognised for excellence in Careers Education and Guidance.
The Role of the Careers Adviser
We employ a qualified Careers Advisers who is available to support students throughout their time at the school and beyond. One-to-one appointments can be booked at any time. It is recognised that individualised guidance needs to be available at specific times of transition in education which is why our school based Careers Adviser interviews every student in Year 11 as they start to make decisions and choices which will impact on their longer term career plans. Sixth Form students are supported through individual careers interviews and careers education throughout their A level studies as they move towards making decisions about university, gap year options or apprenticeships. Lunchtime clinics also give students across all year groups the opportunity to ask questions to support them in their career planning.

What the students say:
"When choosing my options, the careers advice I received was instrumental in making me realise that my A-level subjects would determine my employment opportunities in the future, and helped me to make the right decisions about which subjects to take." (Year 11 Student).
"I recently had a careers interview. This was a real benefit for me because I am now clearer about the options I need to take to strive towards my dream career. I have been encouraged to participate in wider opportunities and I hope to apply for Head Girl next year." (Year 11 Student).
Our school based Careers Service has wide and varied links with a range of universities, organisations and employers in order to ensure advice and guidance is always right up to date and external opportunities are promoted to the student body. External visitors from higher education and the world of work regularly visit the school to speak with our students about their experiences; enabling them to make informed choices for their future. The school has strong links with Oxford and Cambridge universities and provides a programme of workshops to support students interested in these options, as well as clubs and societies for budding medics and vets.
We also support those students who want to extend their experiences through studying abroad at international universities and we have key links with Harvard and Yale universities. Work experience is an important aspect of individual development and we support students in finding placements in the areas of work of interest to them both locally, nationally and internationally.
What the students say:
"Invicta has many external links with organisations including employers, universities and gap year schemes. It was good to hear from some of these links on our first post-18 Enrichment Workshop as it gave us all an insight into what we could achieve after school." (Year 12 Student).
