DJBET电竞菠菜人 www.wenzhousizu.com Under the baton of Mr Heaton, Invicta Grammar School Orchestra meets every Friday in the purpose-built music auditorium and features many of the outstanding instrumentalists at Invicta, as well as many other musicians who are developing their musical skills. The orchestra covers a wide range of repertoire and perform at least four times a year, including the termly music department concerts, as well as a themed concert in the spring term. This year, the orchestra have performed a wide range of works including a suite from Carmen, The Nutcracker and Jurassic Park. The orchestra is well resourced with a full orchestral percussion section, including three professional-standard timpani, a glockenspiel, xylophone and bass drum. We are also delighted to be joined each term by guest conductor Joseph Wolfe, who has conducted orchestras including the London Symphony, London Phillharmonic, City of Birmingham Symphony and the Scottish Chamber orchestra.
At Invicta, we believe that every student playing an orchestral instrument should be a part of the school orchestra. Students develop cultural and musical understanding, gain self-confidence and lasting friendships, and become a part of one of the most highly-regarded ensembles within the school. The parts are differentiated for a wide range of abilities, meaning both relative beginners, and developed musicians, can play alongside one another. We would encourage any student interested in developing the life-long skill of playing an orchestral instrument to contact Mr Heaton – and become a member of the school orchestra!
